Emit Time
Vancouver Film School | Project Manager and Programmer
Unity
Emit Time is a 2.5D combat arena shooter set in a futuristic sci-fi laboratory, where players fight waves of mutants using time-based abilities. I was responsible for designing and implementing the game’s time reversal system.
The system allows gameplay elements to rewind their state reliably during combat, including movement, actions, and interactions. I designed the architecture around clear interfaces and inheritance, following SOLID principles, so time reversal could be added to new systems without tightly coupling them to the core logic.
By defining a shared contract for reversible behavior, other programmers on the team were able to implement time rewind support in their own systems independently, without needing to modify the underlying framework. This allowed parallel development and reduced integration friction.
The result was a flexible and scalable time manipulation system that supported fast-paced combat while keeping the codebase maintainable and easy to extend.
